For the common Type 30 long-stroke chamber, the readjustment limit is 2 inches; on a standard-stroke Type 30, the limit is 1.75 inches — which is why identifying the chamber type before you measure is critical. Fleet maintenance guidance suggests generating a pre-out-of-service alert when stroke trends toward the 1.75-inch warning point on a 20-square-inch chamber, before it reaches the 2-inch OOS limit.
